I am not a morning person. Anyone who really knows me already knows this. I hate mornings. I hate getting out of my comfy, warm, sleepy bed. Which is why getting my children ready for school is the hardest part (for me) of being a mom. But I would like to point out--my oldest is now in 4th grade, I have one in 2nd and one in preschool, and not once has anyone of them ever been late for school. So I may hate getting out of bed earlier than I would like, but I do. I hate to admit it, but I am pretty grouchy in the mornings, Merlin can testify to this. The first step is admitting you have a problem, right? So I have been trying to be sweeter while getting everyone ready for school. Then I had a morning like today.
I was fixing breakfast for the girls when Brother rolled out of bed and came to the table and did something he has never done before. He said, "Mom, fix me breakfast." There was no "please," no "will you...," not even a question, it was a command. Me, trying to be my new and improved sweet self said, "What do you want?" He said, "FIX ME BREAKFAST!" He was really trying my patience. "OK, do you want cereal or waffles?" Again he yelled, "JUST FIX ME BREAKFAST!" So I fought off all my initial urges and fixed him a bowl of cereal. I put it in front of him, he looked at it and said, "I don't want that kind." Apparently he is not a morning person either.
He ate the cereal. Then he had a waffle.

I love to keep up on what's going on with all of you. Your kids are growing so fast. I love the demands those 5 year olds love to give. I have resorted to threatening Mia that rude little girls do not get to go to kindergarten.
Love ya.
Sounds like the typical conversation at my house too. Just yesterday my 5 year old asked for some candy, and when I said no, he said "we'll see about that." Hmmm.
