About an hour after we gave Baby Girl her breathing treatment she started wheezing again. Now I am no asthma expert, but I figured that was not good. I called the doctor and they asked me to bring her in. When I got there they took Baby Girls SAT's and her oxygen was at 85%, so they did another breathing treatment on her. They checked her oxygen again and it was 91% and then almost immediately it dropped back to 85%. The doctor was concerned enough that he sent me to the hospital to admit Baby Girl so that they could monitor her over night.
When we got to the hospital they did the RSV test to rule it out. She has had that test before, six weeks ago, and it is not pleasant. We got settled in a room and did a whole lot of nothing. After her nap they did another breathing treatment and they have been giving her steroids. The RSP test came back negative. From what the doctor told me she basically got some stupid virus, but because she has asthma, it just made it worse. Bad enough to be hospitalized over night. He also told me that after she goes home we will start doing daily asthma treatments until about April 2009, otherwise every time she gets sick she will end up in the hospital.
Merlin came to the hospital and brought me dinner. After a while my sister Jenni brought Big Sister, Little Sister and Brother up to visit Baby Girl. Big Sister was quite upset about the whole thing. She is my extra sensitive child. She is so worried about Baby Girl. I came home with the kids and got them ready for bed. Merlin is staying over night with Izzy. I will be going right back in the morning as soon as I get the kids to school.
I have never had a child need to spend a night at the hospital, except when they were born of course. It was the hardest thing to walk out of the hospital room with Baby Girl crying for her mommy.

Wow, we will keep you and Izzy in our prayers tonight, I can't imagine having to leave her and her being there. Sorry to hear you have to go through it.

So so sad. I can't imagine how hard that would be. Best of luck for Izzy to get well and be good during breathing treatments.
I am so sorry you have to go through all this. Alyson has been my asthma girl and has been in the hospital a couple of times for it. DO THE PERVENTITIVE STUFF FAITHFULLY! It definitely helps. This fall has already been a hard one for Alyson and she is older. I am always parinoid this time of year. Again I am sorry, let us know if we can do anything to help out.
